42. What should a DxF Participant do if a person asks to opt out of DxF data exchange? [6/28/2024]

If a person asks to opt out of DxF data exchange, the Participant should follow their own organization’s procedure for an individual’s request for a restriction on the use or disclosure of their data. The provider can also advise the person that there is otherwise no state-wide mechanism to opt out of DxF data exchange. The DxF is not an information technology system or a single repository of data. The DxF establishes the ”rules of the road” for a collection of organizations that are required to exchange health and social services information with each other.
