Effective June 25th, 2026, Serving Communities Health Information Organization (“SCHIO”) has voluntarily withdrawn from participation as a QHIO and as an intermediary within the DxF.
A statement from SCHIO:
“SCHIO appreciates and sincerely thanks CDII and HCAI for their collaboration, partnership, and stewardship in advancing California’s interoperability framework. SCHIO’s Board made this decision thoughtfully after careful evaluation of long-term organizational sustainability and the evolving needs of regional interoperability. SCHIO has worked diligently to support continuity of service by ensuring participants have access to successor exchange pathways. SCHIO remains highly confident in the continued maturation of California’s interoperability ecosystem and the important work of the QHIO community. SCHIO is proud of the role we have played in advancing community-based healthcare interoperability in California and are deeply grateful for the collective partnership and support throughout that journey.”
The HCAI QHIO team would like to thank SCHIO for their participation and collaboration as an inaugural member of the QHIO Program and recognizes SCHIO’s immense historical contributions to state interoperability efforts.
